This blog is a way to evangelize the idea that products should be designed to work for all of us. We don’t have to understand the technology behind a product – we just want to use it to get something done. I advocate we design things to be understandable and easy-to-use by everyone. So on these pages I hope to develop interest and awareness of great design, design for accessibility, universal design, design for humans, ideas about how to make things usable.

My motivation is to see technology successfully turned into products, which is a commercial activity. I believe customers seek out, and will pay more for, well designed products and experiences. So, there is another side to this blog – the ‘value of design’ and how to be ‘design led’.

I’m going to try to focus on the positive and I hope that I might inspire people to inject a little more design into their thinking.

So here’s to ‘the rest of us’ – I hope you’ll join me in the cause.
